Ethiopia: PM Abiy, Lt. Gen. Tadesse Convene As Tigray Admin Term Nears End

Lieutenant General Tadesse Werede is in Addis Ababa for a meeting with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed as the term of the Tigray Regional Administration nears its end. Tadesse, appointed a year ago, presented his annual report and discussed its findings with the Prime Minister. The end of this mandate, set for later this month, raises concerns about a potential power vacuum in the Tigray region, which will be excluded from the national elections in June.
