French nationals return home following Iran prison release

French President Emmanuel Macron announced that Cecile Kohler and Jacques Paris, two French nationals detained in Iran for over three years, are returning to France following negotiations led by Oman. They were arrested in 2022 on charges of espionage, which France deemed unfounded. After their release last November, they had been staying at the French embassy in Tehran.
