Football: Can Aliou Cissé lead Angola in the footsteps of Senegal?

Aliou Cissé was appointed head coach of the Angola national team on April 9, 2026, with the goal of qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations 2027. He succeeds Patrice Beaumelle after Angola's early elimination in the group stage of AFCON 2025. Cissé will also need to focus on structuring youth teams and mobilizing players from the diaspora to strengthen the squad. The first friendly matches are scheduled for June 2026.
