France: Relatives of Sassou-Nguesso convicted for money laundering appeal

Relatives of Denis Sassou-Nguesso, including his niece Emilienne Inès Mouebara Nguesso and her husband Habib Landry Gantsui, have appealed their convictions for money laundering and breach of trust. They were found guilty of laundering misappropriated public funds in the Republic of Congo, linked to 2.3 million euros in contracts awarded to the company Propharma. Their lawyer contests the verdict, arguing that no evidence of embezzlement was established and that the Congolese company did not file a complaint.
