Man Utd consider Howe, Nagelsmann, Conte to replace under-fire Carrick

Manchester United is considering Eddie Howe, Julian Nagelsmann and Antonio Conte as possible successors to Michael Carrick, whose job is in serious doubt after a 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth. The loss came five days after United were beaten 4-1 by Como in the Champions League, leaving the club winless in eight matches and 16th in the Premier League, one point above the relegation zone. Carrick dropped captain Bruno Fernandes for the Bournemouth game after Fernandes criticised the team’s approach against Como; goals from Rayan, Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson deepened United’s crisis. United visit Chelsea on Saturday, with difficult fixtures against Aston Villa and Liverpool to follow.
