Middle East War: Iran Claims to Have Shot Down American Fighter Jet

The United States reported rescuing a soldier missing after an American fighter jet was shot down by Iran. Iranian state television aired a video showing debris from the American aircraft and claimed to have also shot down two helicopters involved in the rescue operation. However, a regional intelligence official stated that the U.S. military had destroyed two transport planes due to a technical malfunction.
