Guinea: Unexplained Delay of Combined Municipal and Legislative Elections

The legislative and municipal elections in Guinea, originally scheduled for May 24, 2026, have been postponed to May 31, 2026, by a decree from President Mamadi Doumbouya, without any official explanation. This delay is accompanied by a rescheduling of the electoral campaign dates, which will start on May 1 for the legislative elections and May 11 for the municipal elections.
