Gunmen kill Imo monarch, 5 others, burn corpses

Unidentified gunmen killed the traditional ruler of Ochia Autonomous Community, Eze Paulinus Ekwueme, and five others on April 10, 2026, along Asaa/Awara road in Imo State. After the attack, the assailants set the corpses of the victims ablaze. The state police have launched a manhunt for the perpetrators and deployed tactical units in the area to enhance security.
