At least one dead in forest fires in northern Algeria

A 59-year-old municipal employee died while fighting wildfires in the commune of Beni Mouhli, Sétif province. The mayor confirmed the death. Civil Protection evacuated a person with severe burns by helicopter. The wildfires, fueled by a heatwave, caused nearly 140 fire outbreaks in 24 hours, according to Civil Protection.
