Sanusi calls for national AI strategy for Nigeria

The 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, stated that Nigeria urgently needs a clear national plan to guide the use of technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), for development. At a conference in Kano, he emphasized the role of universities in shaping policies to support national progress. Sanusi warned that Nigeria risks falling behind other countries, such as Ghana, that have already developed AI strategies focused on youth training and economic growth.
