Forty general practitioners and specialists involved in the fight against Ebola received certificates of merit in Bunia, Ituri, on Sunday, October 25. The ceremony, organized by the Collective of Women’s Associations for Development (CAFED), recognized their care for patients despite difficult conditions and risks to their health. CAFED president Isabelle Pendeza said the initiative was intended to encourage health workers involved in the response. The organization plans to honor other people involved in the fight against Ebola as part of a project on women’s participation in the response.
