The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) secured the final forfeiture of 48 properties linked to former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami. Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja granted the order on July 15, 2026, ruling that the assets were reasonably suspected proceeds of unlawful activities. Seized assets include Rayhaan University in Kebbi State, Meethaq and Harmonia hotels in Abuja, filling stations, and land parcels. The case began on January 6, 2026, with an interim forfeiture order, and Malami along with 14 others had challenged the action.
