CJN decries 'cash-and-carry’ law practice, seeks ethical rebirth

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, condemned the growing 'cash-and-carry' approach to legal practice, warning it threatens the integrity of the profession and the administration of justice. Speaking at the Nigerian Bar Association's Annual Conference, she called for an urgent ethical rebirth among lawyers, emphasizing that the pursuit of fees should not overshadow their duty to justice. She also stressed the need for stronger collaboration between the Bench and the Bar to build a responsive and resilient legal system.
