Significant Material Damage After Heavy Rain in Kananga

Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds hit Kananga on October 8, causing the collapse of several homes and roof damage. About ten houses in the Katoka 3 neighborhood were completely destroyed, leaving families homeless. The La Renaissance school complex was also affected, with roofing sheets torn off, though no classrooms were destroyed, raising concerns about the quality of recent infrastructure projects. Civil society calls for an investigation into the funds used and repairs to ensure student safety.
