ISWAP fighter surrenders to troops in Borno

A suspected fighter linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) surrendered to troops of the 192 Battalion in Gwoza Local Government Area. He claimed to have escaped from the Drume terrorist camp near the Mandara Mountains and was found with N3,500. Security analysts note a rising number of terrorists surrendering in recent months due to sustained military operations in the North-East.
