Customs Reviews Recruitment Complaints, Screens Out 397 Applicants

The Nigeria Customs Service has opened a new process to review complaints from applicants disqualified during its recent recruitment exercise. Comptroller-General Adewale Adeniyi ordered case-by-case reassessments after meeting some affected candidates, while stressing that a review does not guarantee admission. Spokesperson Abdullahi Maiwada said 397 applicants were flagged over issues including substance abuse, physical fitness, medical records, age and submitted documents. Applicants can send complaints to helpdesk@customs.gov.ng, but established cases of certificate fraud or other criminal conduct may lead to prosecution.
