Protect Christians from attacks, U.S. official urges Nigeria

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Frank Garcia urged Nigeria to protect Christian communities from attacks and ensure the safe return of IDPs. During a visit to Abuja, he met with senior Nigerian officials including the Foreign Minister and Chief of Defence Staff. Discussions covered security cooperation and counter-terrorism. The next U.S.-Nigeria Joint Working Group meeting is scheduled for August in Washington, D.C.
