Ex-NuPEA Accountant Fined Ksh130,000 Over Forged KCSE Certificate

A former accountant at the Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPEA) was convicted after admitting to using forged academic documents to obtain her job. She had presented a falsified KCSE certificate claiming she took her exams at Moi Girls Secondary School in Nangili in 1996. Magistrate Rose Ndombi fined her Ksh30,000 for uttering a false document and Ksh100,000 for presenting the forged certificate; failure to pay carries prison terms of one and two years, respectively.

Belgian Searches Targeting the Tshisekedis: Diaspora Collective Remains Outraged and Appeals to Belgian Authorities

The International Collective of the Congolese Diaspora (CIDC) and several partner associations wrote to Belgian authorities to denounce searches targeting members of President Félix Tshisekedi’s circle. Rule of Law: Benin Ranks 94th Worldwide and 13th in Africa in 2026, According to WJP

Benin ranks 94th out of 143 countries in the World Justice Project’s 2026 Rule of Law Index, published on October 21, with a score of 0.47, up by less than 1%. It places 13th among the 38 African countries assessed, after ranking 93rd worldwide in 2024. Benin ranks 79th for constraints on government powers, fundamental rights and criminal justice, but 108th for civil justice and 115th for open government; freedoms of opinion, expression, assembly and association have declined. Rwanda leads the African rankings, followed by Namibia and Mauritius.
