Just in: Senate faults Makinde’s UN probe call over Oyo school abduction

The Nigerian Senate criticized Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for calling for a UN-led probe into the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area. The Upper Chamber commended President Tinubu, service chiefs, and security agencies for rescuing the children after 56 days in captivity. The Senate urged the federal government to promptly pay all statutory death benefits, insurance claims, and pensions to families of fallen heroes, and to continue strengthening the armed forces and security agencies.
