Nearly 190 health actors assessed the response to the DRC’s 17th Ebola outbreak, caused by the Bundibugyo strain, in Kisangani from October 28 to 30. Incident manager Steve Ahuka reported an overall decline in cases and deaths and noted that some health zones had gone 21 or 42 days without new cases, while transmission persisted in Bafwasende and along the Beni-Mabalako-Mandima corridor. Participants agreed to improve care and food provision at treatment centres, strengthen contact tracing, and increase the involvement of rural authorities to address community resistance.
