Nigeria: five people sentenced to death by hanging for the murder of lawyer Iyoha Osobase

The High Court of Edo State sentenced five people to death by hanging for the kidnapping and murder of lawyer Iyoha Osobase, killed on May 9, 2020 in Benin City. The sixth defendant, Solomon Esuike, was acquitted. Judge Efe Ikpomwonba found them guilty of conspiracy, kidnapping, and murder. The convicts have the right to appeal to the Nigerian Court of Appeal.
