Libya lets loose the Russian Ghost Ship, Arctic Metagaz, after storms thwarted its towing attempts

The western region government of Libya announced it has lost control of the Russian gas tanker Arctic Metagaz, which is now drifting uncontrollably in the Mediterranean Sea. The ship, heavily damaged in a suspected drone strike in March, was abandoned by its crew after explosions. Libyan authorities have called on Mediterranean countries to intervene to prevent issues in international waters.
