Lagos launches tech system to speed up emergency response

The Lagos State Government has launched the Lagos Emergency Responder Management System (LERMS) to enhance coordination among emergency agencies and reduce response times. The system integrates key services such as the EKO HELP platform, allowing residents to report emergencies through various channels. The response time, currently averaging 12 to 13 minutes, is expected to decrease to 5-7 minutes with this initiative, which is part of a broader plan to build a smart city.
