Launch of Asphalting Works on RN1 in Mbuji-Mayi

The asphalting works on National Road No. 1 (RN1) in Mbuji-Mayi officially began on June 8, 2026, with a 200-meter test section at kilometer point 3. The project, which involves paving approximately 8 kilometers from the Petrombu roundabout to the Lubilanji bridge, is funded by the Sino-Congolese program and executed by CREC-7 under the supervision of the Congolese Agency for Major Works (ACGT). The infrastructure will include four traffic lanes, a central median, concrete sidewalks, and drainage ditches. Engineer Maxime Katontoka, mission chief for ACGT, expressed satisfaction with the progress and commitment to meeting deadlines.
