US military rejects Iran's claim of firing on American warships

The US military on Friday rejected Iran's claim that it fired warning shots at American warships. US Central Command, which oversees American forces in the Middle East, stated that Iranian forces did not attack or fire at US Navy warships. It said doing so would be a gross violation of the fragile ceasefire between the two countries.

United States forks out USD 240 Million to the Catholic Relief Services in Addressing Global Humanitarian Needs

The United States has announced more than $240 million in humanitarian and disaster response assistance to Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the first in a series of State Department awards to trusted implementing organizations. The announcement was made in Rome by Senior Bureau Official Ryan Shrum, alongside U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See Brian Burch and others. The funding will enable CRS to provide rapid multi-sectoral assistance (food, nutrition, health, water, sanitation, shelter) in countries including Burma, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Haiti, Nigeria, and Sudan.
