FG spends N418.79bn on electricity subsidy in Q4 2025

The federal government spent about N418.79bn on electricity subsidies in the last quarter of 2025, according to the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC). This amount is lower than the N458.75bn spent in the previous quarter, with a decrease of N39.96bn. Subsidies accounted for 52.30% of the total billed amount by power generation companies, down from 58.63% in the previous quarter, due to an increase in electricity supply to Band A customers.
