Morocco Co-Chairs OECD Forum on Critical Minerals in Istanbul

Morocco and Türkiye co-chaired the OECD Forum on Critical Minerals in Istanbul on April 28 and 29, 2026, under the theme "Unlocking Investment and Growth through Partnership." Energy Transition Minister Laila Benali emphasized Morocco's strategic role as a bridge between Africa and Europe in resource and energy dynamics. She also noted Africa's evolving role in the global mining landscape, moving from being a mere supplier of raw materials to a key partner in innovation and the green transition.
