First US-Venezuela flight lands in Caracas after seven-year suspension

Flight AA3599, operated by Envoy Air, departed Miami at 10:11 am ET and landed in Caracas about three hours later, marking the end of a seven-year suspension of direct commercial flights between the United States and Venezuela. This flight comes after a significant shift in US-Venezuela relations following January's operation that led to the abduction of former President Nicolas Maduro. American Airlines also plans to start a second daily flight between Miami and Caracas on May 21.
