Mercosur Chief Calls Morocco ‘Bridge to Arab World and Africa,’ Signals Closer Ties

Mercosur Parliament President Rodrigo Gamarra stated in Rabat that Morocco is seen as a 'bridge to the Arab world and Africa,' enhancing diplomatic and trade relations. Following talks with Morocco's Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, Gamarra emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening ties between Morocco and Mercosur countries. He also reiterated Paraguay's support for UN Security Council Resolution 2797 regarding Morocco's sovereignty over Western Sahara.
