Senate approves $516.3m loan for Sokoto–Badagry super highway project

The Senate approved a $516,333,700 syndicated loan for the construction of the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway Project. This decision followed the presentation of the report by the Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debts, chaired by Senator Aliyu Wammakko. The project, which will span approximately 1,000 kilometers, will be partially financed by a loan from Deutsche Bank AG, supported by the ICIEC. The federal government will also provide counterpart funding of ₦265,542,689,569 for land acquisition and ancillary infrastructure.
