Emir appoints Sheikh Dasuki as 13th Chief Imam of Ilorin, AbdulRazaq hails choice

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, appointed Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki as the 13th Chief Imam of Ilorin, five months after the death of his predecessor. Sheikh Dasuki, aged 42, comes from a lineage of imams and holds a degree from Al-Azhar University. He was the founder of an Islamic school and imam of a mosque in Ilorin. Kwara State Governor AbdulRazaq hailed the appointment.
