Petrol Companies Risk Ksh10 Million Fine for Hoarding Fuel, CAK Warns

Petrol companies in Kenya face fines of up to Ksh10 million following a new directive from the CAK aimed at addressing fuel hoarding and price manipulation. The CAK raised concerns over suspected malpractice in the fuel supply chain, accusing some dealers of deliberately restricting supply to create artificial scarcity. Companies selling fuel above the prescribed price or engaging in other anti-competitive practices may also face imprisonment of up to five years.
