Mary Habila: Suspend Umahi now, APM tells Tinubu

The Allied People's Movement (APM) has called on President Bola Tinubu to immediately suspend the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, pending an independent and transparent inquest into the death of Mary Habila, a physiotherapist found dead at the minister's residence in Ebonyi State. The APM argues that the Presidency's silence and the minister's continued stay in cabinet damage the nation's reputation and confirm the government's insensitivity. The party cites media reports that Habila was brought from Kaduna State to Ebonyi by one of Umahi's aides on June 26, 2026, before being found dead the next morning. The APM demands an open investigation to address legitimate questions about the circumstances of her death.
