MP Zaheer Jhanda Defends Ksh1,000 Handouts, Says Money Is Part of His Salary

Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda has doubled the cash handouts he gives to constituents from KSh500 to KSh1,000. Jhanda claims these handouts are part of his salary and that he began distributing them before his election in 2022. Despite facing criticism for this practice, he insists that the money comes from his own resources and that he committed to channeling half of his parliamentary salary to his community.
