Nairobi County Wins as Tribunal Strikes Out Bulk of Ksh 8.3B KRA Tax Demand

The Tax Appeals Tribunal annulled the bulk of a disputed Ksh 8.3 billion tax demand issued by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) against Nairobi County. The tribunal found that KRA's assessment lacked sufficient justification and failed to account for reconciliation documents submitted by both parties. Ultimately, only the NITA levy component was upheld, confirming a reconciled tax liability of Ksh 130.7 million, while the additional assessments were set aside.
