Premature Births: The Dangers of Plastic Reported by Scientists

A study from New York University reveals a link between phthalates and DEHP, plastic compounds, and premature births. In 2018, these substances were responsible for 1.97 million premature births worldwide, accounting for over 8% of cases. Approximately 74,000 newborn deaths are also associated with these births. The Middle East and South Asia account for 54% of cases, while Africa represents 26%.
