Nicotine Pouches now threatening the lives of young people around the world

The World Health Organization (WHO) is raising alarms about the rapid expansion of nicotine pouches, which are aggressively marketed to adolescents. In 2024, retail sales of nicotine pouches reached over 23 billion units, increasing by more than 50 percent from the previous year. WHO emphasizes that nicotine is highly addictive and harmful, particularly for young people whose brains are still developing.
