The Dangote refinery in Nigeria exceeded its nominal capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, reaching 700,000 barrels per day during a performance test. According to Devakumar Edwin, Vice President of Oil and Gas at Dangote Industries, this increase is part of a plan to reach 1.4 million barrels per day within 30 months, potentially making it one of the world's largest refineries. Owned by billionaire Aliko Dangote, the plant started fuel production in 2024 and supplies domestic markets as well as several African countries.
