Nigeria mulls adopting traditional medicine to solve emerging diseases and other health challenges

The Federal Government of Nigeria is committed to repositioning traditional medicine as a key component of its health and economic development agenda. Minister of State for Health, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, emphasized the importance of scientific research and rigorous evaluation of traditional medicine products and practices. He also mentioned the establishment of a dedicated department for traditional medicine within the Ministry of Health to promote its integration into the national health system.
