Remarks against its leaders: MRC calls on the CNC and the courts

In a statement dated October 20, 2026, the MRC condemned remarks it considers defamatory, made on Times TV by Serge Mathias Olama Oyebe about Maurice Kamto, Olivier Bibou Nissack and Alain Fogué Tedom. The party accused the channel’s director, Bertrand Francis Bonga, of relaying the allegations and criticized the presenters for failing to challenge them. It also objected to Willy Mengue’s appearance on the program “Débattons,” saying he was expelled from the MRC in June 2026. The MRC called on the National Communication Council, the courts and the Ministry of Communication to determine responsibility.
