The Plateau State Advisory Council on Interreligious Harmony condemned the attack on Angwan Rukuba community as 'barbaric' and an 'act of terrorism'. Co-Chairmen Rev. Pandang Yamsat and HRH Muhammad Sambo-Haruna II praised Governor Caleb Mutfwang's swift response and urged that perpetrators be treated as terrorists. The attack resulted in 28 deaths and has created tension in some communities within Jos metropolis, leading to the evacuation of University of Jos students.
