Over 1,500 Mai-Mai Militias Lay Down Arms and Commit to Peace in Maniema

1,542 former Mai-Mai militias have agreed to lay down their arms in Maniema province as part of the Disarmament, Demobilization, Community Recovery, and Stabilization Program (P-DDRCS). The operation began in Lokando and included 1,115 men, 427 women, and 41 children. The ex-combatants expressed their desire to build peace, supported by local authorities who wish to extend this initiative to other territories.
