Over 1.65 million malaria cases recorded in 2025 in North Kivu

In 2025, the North Kivu province recorded over 1.65 million cases of malaria, according to the National Malaria Control Program (PNLP). Provincial coordinator Demson Musondoli presented these figures during a press conference in Beni, in connection with World Malaria Day. She urged the population to clean their environment to limit the proliferation of mosquito vectors of the disease.

EFCC orders probe into alleged assault of UUTH professor

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has ordered an investigation into an altercation between its operatives and staff of the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH), which allegedly led to the brutalization of Professor Eyo Ekpe, a prominent cardiologist in Nigeria.
