Postmortem Confirms Nanyuki Form Three Student Died From Gunshot Wounds

The postmortem of 16-year-old Form Three student Silvester Muigai confirms he died from a single gunshot wound to the head during the June 9, 2026 protests in Nanyuki, Laikipia County. The bullet has been handed over to the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) for investigation. Described as an innocent bystander, he was shot as protests turned violent. His mother, who lost her home in a fire last year, is appealing for support and demanding justice.
