Whitening products, soaps, mercury creams and powders: 139 products removed from shelves in Benin

The government of Benin has removed 139 cosmetic products containing harmful ingredients, such as hydroquinone and mercury, following a procedure by the Ministry of Health. Among the affected products are whitening creams like Fair & White and soaps like Movate. The campaign also includes common consumer products, such as Johnson's Baby Powder, suspected of containing dangerous chemicals. This initiative aims to protect public health against the proliferation of these products.
