British couple return to village at heart of deadly Spanish wildfire

At least 13 people, including five believed to be British, were killed by the wildfire in Spain's Almeria province, one of the country's deadliest. A 93-year-old British woman died of injuries in hospital on Sunday. British couple Emma and Simon Michell, who moved to Bédar three years ago, returned to find their home undamaged but the surrounding landscape charred. The fire, driven by winds of up to 50 km/h, burned about 7,000 hectares before being contained, and the couple criticized the lack of proper evacuation alerts.
