Peter Magyar, leader of the pro-European conservative TISZA party, ended Viktor Orban's 16-year rule by winning Sunday’s parliamentary election with 53.6% of the vote and securing 138 out of 199 seats. Born in Budapest in March 1981, Magyar was once a staunch loyalist of Orban and began his career in corporate law after graduating in 2004. In his victory speech, he stated that 'truth prevailed over lies'.
