Rape in Yeumbeul: 16-year-old student assaulted under knife threat

On June 1, 2026, a 16-year-old student in her third year of secondary school was raped under knife threat in Yeumbeul. The assailant approached her under the pretext of online tutoring, obtained her phone number, then lured her to his room where he sequestered and raped her. A gynecological exam confirmed the assault. The suspect was arrested on the night of June 3-4, partially confessed, and was brought before the public prosecutor on June 5, 2026.
