Refugee in my own city: Surviving Tehran’s bombing, with my cat for company

Sana, a 27-year-old woman living in Tehran, decided not to flee the city during the recent US-Israeli strikes that began on February 28, 2026. Despite her family's pleas for her to leave the capital, she chose to stay with her cat, Fandogh. Having already experienced the horrors of war in June 2025, she was deeply affected and resolved not to leave her home this time.
