Former Central African President François Bozizé is being tried in absentia for war crimes and crimes against humanity before the Special Criminal Court in Bangui. He is accused of murders, enforced disappearances, acts of torture and rapes committed by his republican guard between February 2009 and March 2013. Chief clerk Dieudonné Senego described Bozizé's regime as a solitary and paranoid exercise of power.
